Revlon Stormy Night -A look at a discontinued polish

Because I am wicked I’m going to torture you with a post about a discontinued nail polish. Bwahahaha!

I actually have a good number of discontinued nail polishes so I might start an evil nail polish series. It will be fun! For me! 😐

The entire line of Revlon Colorstay Longwear Nail Enamel was discontinued a few years ago and replaced with the Gel Envy line (which I’ve heard is quite good but I haven’t tried it yet). I’m not sure I’ll ever forgive Revlon for this choice since this particular line of polish was absolutely amazing.

Stormy Night is the perfect neutral gray. It’s neutral in depth as well as tone and can pull warmer or cooler depending on lighting. This is actually my favorite gray shade that I own (I say that like I have hundreds of grays. Who knows, perhaps I do.)

Do you have Stormy Night? If so, I suggest you pull it out this week, it’s a gorgeous shade! What discontinued product line still ticks you off? I’m sure I have other ones but none come to mind at the moment.

  • It has been such a strange week so far! At work we’ve had a weird combination of meetings and minor construction. In our last Skype meeting I think there was some concern over all of the banging caused by the new carpet being installed upstairs. It might have sounded like we were holding hostages.
  • Yesterday I had to find a new gym because mine seems to be losing its mind and turning into a crazy dictatorship. The new gym doesn’t have a wide variety of cardio equipment which is a bummer currently because I’m still trying to lose weight and cardio is a necessary evil. Ultimately I probably won’t care too much though because weight lifting is my one true exercise love and they have a good amount of weight equipment.
  • I just started watching Orphan Black and I’m obsessed. It’s so good!

  1. Ugh I have so many polishes (and makeup for that matter) that are discontinued – I have no qualms about posting them! πŸ˜›
I have a bunch of these Revlon Colorstay polishes (but not this shade) and they’re really good. I really wonder if they’re any different than Gel Envy ones they released – the bottles are the same.
Gorgeous colour – is this a “greige” type of shade where it can look a bit taupe-ish in certain light?
What happened at your old gym and it becoming a dictatorship?

    1. Ha! Good! That makes me feel better about doing the same πŸ™‚
I guess at some point I’ll try the gel envy ones. I can’t imagine that they’re all that different. Right?
It’s totally greige! I love it!
Actually my old gym isn’t really that bad for the most part. I used to work there back in the day when they were still kind if old school and I’ve seen them polish everything up and get all fancy. Some of the changes have been good but a lot have just been super annoying (no gym bags allowed in the gym, kids are allowed on the gym floor unsupervised, minor things really). I’m just crabby about change sometimes. Last week though the notified me (via voicemail) that my membership fees would increase by $15 a month effective immediately. That was 5 days before my bank draft was scheduled and I was pretty unimpressed with the short notice and unprofessional manner in which it was handled. I can get a membership for cheaper elsewhere. Ain’t nobody got time for that!

  2. Oh my GOD I love that color! Beautiful. I’ve tried one of the Gel Envy polishes, I think, and wasn’t impressed. I think I have two bottles and haven’t bothered to try the second yet. Unfortunately I think I missed out on this discontinued line!

    1. Sad! I was kind of hoping that the gel envy line would be comparable. I need to try to find a shade dupe for Stormy Night though because it’s a really great color.

  3. What a great..slightly painful…idea hahah I love this and I can’t wait to see what else you have stashed away πŸ˜€

  4. Sorry to bump a suuuper old post, but Revlon’s Top Speed nail polish in Stormy (go figure, with that name) looks to be *exactly* this color, though in a not-as-long-wearing formula. I wear it alllll the time. Such an easy neutral, and with the fast dry, I can throw it on at the last minute on my way out!

      1. You’re welcome! I hope it works out for you! Even if it’s not as indestructible as the Colorstay line… I’m loving the Colorstay Cafe Pink I’ve got on right now.
