Sinful Colors – San Francisco – Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

Do people still pinch each other for lack of green attire on St. Paddy’s Day? That was totally a thing when I was growing up.

In honor of the patron saint of Ireland and his green tinged day, I have a nail polish from Sinful Color’s 2016 St. Patrick’s Day collection. The collection is called Shamrock Out and the shade in question is called San Francisco.

The Sinful Colors website describes San Francisco as a pearly evergreen shade and I think that’s completely accurate. It’s a perfect Christmas green and it’s neutral in tone.

The above photos are of three coats of San Francisco over OPI Nail Envy and topped with Seche Vite quick dry top coat.

I could have done with a fourth coat of polish although three coats is fine enough. It is a thin polish that is slightly prone to flooding the cuticles. Other than that, it applied evenly and there is NO streaking which is kind of incredible for a pearly metallic shade.

May love and laughter light your days,

and warm your heart and home.

May good and faithful friends be yours,

wherever you may roam.

May peace and plenty bless your world

with joy that long endures.

May all life’s passing seasons

bring the best to you and yours.

-Old Irish Blessing

Tidbits:

  • I am unreasonably tired today. I fell asleep on the couch after getting up and pouring my coffee. It might be a bit of a long day.
  • I started reading “The Witches Daughter”  by Paula Brackston this week. Have you read it? I’m not far in the book yet so I can’t really tell what I think so far.
  • Yesterday was leg day and I thought it was a good idea to do box jumps, box step overs AND lunges in addition to my normal weight workout. What the heck was I thinking?!

  1. Gorgeous! Sinful colors polishes are so nice – I should get to wearing some of the ones I got for my birthday last year.
I lived in Dublin for a short stint and every time St Patrick’s Day rolls around, I get nostalgic. 🙂 Have you been to Ireland? I recommend it!
I`ve been SO tired all week from the time change… and it’s been SO gloomy / rainy all week.

    1. I always forget how nice they really are. I should stop discounting them when I’m shopping.
That’s so cool! What was your favorite part of living in Ireland? I’ve never been but it’s definitely on my list of places to go.

    1. Me too! I’ve been all about the green everything lately!
I had the hardest time trying to figure out which of her books was the first in this series. So far everything makes sense so there’s that at least 🙂

    1. They really are nice! I tend to forget that when I’m shopping which is unfortunate. Ive had this polish on for 7 days now and it still looks amazing. No chips or tip wear or anything plus I did housework yesterday!

  2. The pinching tradition is still alive in this household, but I think everyone just completely forgot about St. Patrick’s day this year. D= Love the nail polish, and your nails look gorgeous!

    1. That’s so sad! No one should forget the one holiday where mild familial violence is encouraged 🙂
Thank you!! I have since cut them down to little nubbins and I’m missing the more glamorous (but much less practical) nails.

      1. LOL! What a beautiful description. :’D
Oh jeez, I always hate that stage. I’ve been fighting it tooth and nail (heh). My longest nail is nearly a half inch long and I need to cut them since they’re snagging and cracking… but I just can’t stand the regrowth stage. =( Do you wear clear coats that help improve regrowth/strength?

      2. It always makes me so sad when they get to the snugly stage and I have to cut them. It takes so long to grow them back out!
I generally wear some sort of base coat that is allegedly also a treatment. I have no idea if it really helps or not. Lately I’ve been using OPI Nail Envy but that shits expensive yo! I used Essie Fill the Gap…or something along those lines, I think that’s what it was called though…anyway, I really liked that and it was much more affordable. I also make sure to put some Jojoba oil (or any kind of oil really) on them right after I remove my polish because it seems like the remover kind of wrecks them and dries them out.

      3. Very nice!! Mmm, have you tried Sally Hansen’s Diamond Strength clear coat? That’s been the only one that’s really worked for me. =o Not too expensive, either. The jojoba oil trick is very smart!
