I promised some time ago that a haul was coming your way and I’m finally going to make good on that promise. This is a cumulative haul so get comfortable my friend, we might be here for a while.

Let’s start with the Sephora purchases.

Dr. Jart Premium BB Cream

This BB cream was the initial impetus for visiting Sephora. I don’t generally wear foundation because I like seeing my freckles and I hate the way foundation feels and looks on my skin. BUT, I have so much redness in my cheeks that I kind of want SOMETHING to dull that down a bit. I was hoping that a really nice BB cream might be the answer (spoiler: it is!)

Kat Von D Ink! liner in Trooper

This is the year that I’m going to figure out how to do winged liner. Or it will be year that I swear off all things with wings. I’m not sure yet.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Lolita II

Lolita II is what I was expecting from the original Lolita. The Studded Kiss Lipstick is closer to the Lolita II shade in my opinion and the original liquid version is just so bad on me. Like, incredibly awful. Lolita II is nice though!

NARS Blush – Deep Throat

This is actually a re-purchase. For a good number of years Deep Throat was my go to blush but I lost it or it was lifted from my gym bag, I’m not sure which. It’s definitely gone though. I waffled back and forth over re-purchasing this blush for months because I’m sure it’s dupe-able and it isn’t cheap. In the end I opted to re-purchase because I kept wishing I could find it, there are just so many looks that this blush makes better. It is somewhat deeper in tone when on my face than on my hand. (In case you’re wondering, I would recommend this shade a thousand times over Orgasm but I don’t believe that NARS is the be-all, end-all in the blush game either).

I’ve also been quite the busy bee in the drugstore department.

Milani Moisture Lock Lip Treatments

I like the way these smell. They’re great for using while I do my eye makeup as prep for lipstick and they’re great to have handy at the office in lieu of lip balm. I’m not sure they would qualify as a lip treatment and they aren’t a necessity but they’re kind of fun.

Jordana Sweet Cream Matte Liquid Lip Color – Tiramisu

I’ve only worn this once so far but I LOVE the formula. It’s more like the Jeffree Star liquid lipstick than any other liquid lip I’ve tried so far. Guess what? This is damn near a dupe for Lolita II. Just sayin’.

Jordana Made To Last Liquid Eyeshadow – Uphold Gold

Ugh, can you even handle that swatch?! I’m not sure why I thought I need this, I have an incredibly difficult time making liquid eyeshadow work for me. I did wear this the other day and it isn’t as bad as I had feared it would be. It does set (surprisingly uncommon in liquid eyeshadow) although it takes a while. Blended out it’s very glittery which was surprising. It wore…oddly. I’ll have to try it out a few more times to rule out operator error though.

Covergirl Perfect Point Plus – Black Onyx

This was my go-to eyeliner in high school and college and I thought it would be a good option for a new eyeliner to keep in my purse.

NYX Lip Liner – Hot Red

My local CVS just started carrying NYX! So when I wore a red lipstick that bled everywhere on me, this was the liner that I snagged on my lunch break. So far so good.

Sinful Colors – San Francisco

I’ve actually already written a post on this guy. It’s from the Sinful Colors St. Patrick’s Day collection and it’s really nice.

Covergirl Oh Sugar! – Gumdrop

I had heard these Covergirl tinted lip balms tauted as dupes for the Fresh Sugar lip balms. I’m going to say that the texture is totally different. They smell similar but they don’t feel similar at all. I’m not sure I’m actually crazy about this guy to be honest. I love the scent (sort of a lemon pastry scent) but I suspect that lemon fragrance is just a no go for my lips. It always seems to irritate.

Hard Candy Velvet Mousse

This super bulky, super adorable tin case business sucked me in. I love it. I knew that the shades I picked were dark (duh) but holy crap are these shades dark. The purple shade is called Wisteria and the red shade is Dahlia. They’re pretty but a little intense. I wore Dahlia out to go through the McDonald’s drive through (I know it’s totally not cool to like McDonalds, but I really like McDonalds. The breakfast sandwiches are one of my favorite foods and a popular cheat meal pick for me. I always kind of feel like I’m squandering a cheat meal on McDonald’s but it’s kind of worth it.) and I’m not exaggerating when I say the cashier actually stopped what she was doing and stared at my face. I don’t think I was being paranoid either. Dahlia is basically black on me.  All of this to say that I might do lip swatches of these guys or wear them around the house but I don’t think that they’ll be showing up in a WATL post any time soon.

The last stop in our shopping adventure is Ulta. Much to my wallet’s detriment, an Ulta opened in the town next to my town (previously it was a good hour drive to the nearest Ulta) and I’m totally stoked.

NYX Ombre Blush – Mauve Me

What on God’s green earth was I thinking when I picked this particular shade? I’ll tell you what I was thinking: “Oooh pretty color! I don’t have anything like that!”. What I should have been thinking was “Is there a reason you don’t have a color like this? Can you put that color on your face and leave the house?” because the answer to that question is no, no you cannot. It really is a lovely shade but I have way too much warmth and redness in my skin to pull it off. I can kind of make it work as a contour shade if I’m veeeeerrry careful but as a blush it’s not going to work. Any suggestions? Maybe there’s a good tip for utilizing weird blush colors that I don’t know about?

NYX Eyeshadow Base – 01

I didn’t swatch this because it’s sealed and I wasn’t ready to dig into this yet. Pretty boring stuff really, a white eyeshadow base. It’s supposed to be like the eye pencil in Milk but in a pot form.

Zoya Nail Polishes – Hunter and Faye

I’ve never tried Zoya polishes before so I’m actually really stoked to use these! I wore Faye on my toes last week and it was pretty. Less purple than I expected but pretty. When I’m done writing this post I think I’ll do a mani with Hunter (which is from the Spring 2016 release)

Tony Moly Banana Hand Milk

It is a hand cream that is a banana. Do I really need to say more? (turns out I do. It smells SO GOOD. Like banana Runts. It’s amazing)

Tony Molly Eye Masks

I’ve never tried this particular type of mask so I’m stoked to try it tomorrow when I do a maskathon!

NYX Avant Pop – Nouveau Chic

YOU GUYS. This palette is SO. GOOD. I kid you not, this may be one of the best eyeshadow palettes in my collection. I may buy one for everyone I know. Well, maybe not everyone. The Boy for example probably would be underwhelmed and confused by that particular gift. Anyway, I’ll do a full review but this applies like a dream. I don’t normally love NYX eyeshadow but this baby is truly amazing.

NYX Lip Lingerie – Bedtime Flirt

This seems to be one of those liquid lipstick formulas that stays really sticky. I’m not certain yet but I think it might not be my cup of tea.

Oscar Blandi Dry Shampoo Invisible Spray

This claims to be invisible but I honestly wouldn’t know because I got exactly .5 seconds worth of spraying out of this before it bit the dust. I can feel that there’s still a ton of product but the aerosol charge is dead dead dead. Does anyone know if Ulta takes returns without a receipt? Because this shit was pricey and I’m going to be really cranky if I can’t exchange or return it.

NYX High Voltage Lipstick – Burlesque

I did actually wear this once and it was really nice! Not my new favorite but definitely a win. They packaging is a little chintzy but the product was good.

Bed Head Colour Goddess Conditioner

This line doesn’t do anything amazing for my hair BUT, it smells like caramel cookies and it’s absolutely delightful. I’m intending to use this conditioner as a cleansing conditioner because Bed Head conditioners tend to be a little heavy on the detergents.

NYX Colored Mascara – Perfect Pear

Do not question my need for pastel chartreuse mascara!

The aftermath:

I’m really excited about using all of this new stuff! I did decide to go on a no buy for a while so I could take time to really appreciate the products I currently have in my collection. Do you have any of these products? If so, do you love them? Hate them? What have you been hauling lately? Anything exciting?

Tidbits:

• My awesome sister in law introduced me to Snapchat. It’s the beginning of the end I tell you. I am way to entertained by the face distortions.
• Also, my friend introduced me to the cat collector app (Neko Atsume) and it is the most delightful and pointless waste of time. I love it.
• It’s gym time! Yay! So here is my leg workout from this morning:

I didn’t do anything too crazy because I got all competitive earlier in the week and my first leg day was a little intense. Let’s just say that I’m grateful for the handicap bar by the toilet at work.

First I did a ten minute cardio session as a warm up. I did the stair mill which just slays me every time. It’s awesome!

Then I did deadlifts (my absolute favorite weight exercise but you really need to have someone coach you the first time or two so you don’t hurt your back. Good form is everything in weight lifting!)

• Today I did three sets and I increased my weight on each set and decreased my number of reps on each set. So the first set was of 10 reps and the second set was of 8 reps etc.

Lastly I did the leg press with the same three set format as the deadlifts. My glutes are super tired now.

Did you workout at all this week? I had a pretty good workout week, I made it to the gym Wednesday through Saturday which is not too shabby. I’ll try to get a short run in tomorrow and then I’ll consider it a successful week of working out.
