Welcome to the final installment of my 2015 favorites! I feel like this last year I tried so many new eyeshadows that I didn’t really focus very much on any one formula or brand or eyeshadow in general and that made picking my favorites really very straight forward. So let’s take a look at the eye products that I ended up using repeatedly throughout 2015.
Favorite Eyeshadow Base – Urban Decay Anti Aging Primer Potion
In the past I’ve shied away from using eyeshadow primer because I never felt I needed it and mostly because I really dislike the way so many primers can make my eyelid texture very pronounced and crepe like. This last year however, I really got into indie eyeshadow and the downfall of loose eyeshadow is that a primer (and sometimes a glitter glue) is absolutely necessary. Out of all of the primers that I’ve tried, I think that the anti-aging formula of the Urban Decay Primer Potion is my favorite thus far. It gives my lids slightly less texture than other primers and it doesn’t contribute to dry, irritated skin like so many other primers do. I still don’t use primer with pressed shadows very often but when I do, this product works very well.
2014 Favorite Eyeshadow Base – Jordana 12 Hour Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Continuous Almond
Favorite Cream Eyeshadow – Jordana 12 Hour Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencils
I can count the number of times that I reached for any type of cream eye product this last year on one hand. BUT…8 out 10 times I used the Jordana eyeshadow pencil rather than a cream shadow in a pot. It’s a more user friendly format and these shadows are actually a really great formula. There are a handful of colors available but they are pigmented, creamy, set completely, and I don’t have any issues with creasing. In fact, now I kind of want to grab a few more colors!
2014 Favorite Cream Shadow – Make Up For Ever Aqua Cream
Favorite Single Eyeshadow – Sephora Collection Colorful Eyeshadow in No. 82 Hollywood’s Calling
2014 Favorite Single Eyeshadow – Wet n’ Wild Creme Brulee
Favorite Brow Product – Nuance Shape & Define Brow Kit
This handy little kit comes with a brow wax, a cream brow bone highlight and a nice ashy brow powder along with two brushes. I rarely use the cream/wax products but this brow powder practically stains your brows. It’s amazing! It lasts all day long and gives a beautiful, natural brow look. I highly recommend it.
2014 Favorite Brow Product – Milani Brow Tint Pen in Taupe
Favorite Mascara – Jordana Best Lash Extreme
2014 Favorite Mascara – Jordana Best Lash Extreme!
Favorite Eyeshadow Palette – Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette
This palette is just so good. If you’re a neutral lover, you’ll love this palette, if you’re a color lover, this is a great companion palette, whether you like cool tones or warm tones, you’ll love this palette. They lay out is great, the quality is great, everything about this palette is seriously great.
Runner up for Favorite Eyeshadow Palette – Sephora and Pantone Facets of Marsala Eyeshadow Palette
This palette was limited edition and is no longer available but I had to give it a mention for a few reasons. First, I got so much use out of this palette this year. I took it with me for a week long work symposium and had everything I needed for eyeshadow all week long, day and night. Second, the quality of this palette is really great so I wanted to draw your attention to the Sephora collection eyeshadow palettes in general. I think they’ve put out some seriously nice palettes so they’re definitely worth checking out next time you see one in store.
2014 Favorite Eyeshadow Palette – LORAC Pro Palette
Favorite Loose Eyeshadow/Favorite Overall Shadow Formula – My Pretty Zombie
Out of all of the mineral eyeshadow and loose eyeshadow and pigments that I tried this year, I was most impressed with My Pretty Zombie. Some of these shadows didn’t need a primer to be wearable and none of them required glitter glue. The shade selection is amazing, the finishes are amazing, the duo chromes are to die for and the prices are so reasonable you basically can’t justify NOT trying the brand.
That wraps up the round up of favorites for 2015! You can look back on the 2014 Favorite Eye Products if you’re feeling nostalgic and if you missed the rest of the 2015 Favorites you can catch them here:

Did you discover any mind blowing eyeshadows this year? Did you finally pick up a palette you’d been lemming after?
Thank you for stopping by Gym Bag Makeup! I look forward to another exciting year of blogging and chatting with you in the comments!
Those Sephora Colorful eye shadows are great! I own a bunch of them including a couple of the customizable palettes.
Dangit, I really want to try that Jordana Best Lash Extreme mascara. It’s not available here and now they maybe possibly be discontinuing it? BOO.
Gawd I’m sick and tired of seeing that Kat Von D Shade & Light Eye Palette on everyone’s favourites lists. FINE, I’ll go buy it already! (But I’m going to wait until Sephora VIB sale in April)
And I don’t want to hear anything more about the Sephora Marsala collection – I completely missed this collection due to my No-Buy and I’m bitter.
Have you tried the Makeup Forever Artist eye shadows? They were on my list of 2015 discoveries – really long wearing formula and tons of colours / finishes.
I always forget that they have customizable palettes!
I’ll see if I can track down a couple of tubes of Best Lash here where I live and if so, I would be happy to send you some.
It’s all been a great plot to get you to buy the palette! Muahaha! It really is nice though but definitely wait for sales. Sales are great!
Marsala was a terrible color anyway! ๐
I just purchased a three pan compact of MUFE shadows! They really are so nice. I find some of the metallic shades will crease on me because they have such a high dimethicone content but the overall quality and lasting power of the whole line is really great.
I’ll keep an eye out for the Jordana mascara online… by the time you ship it here to Canada, it’ll be so expensive! ๐
