It’s time again to take a look at a handful of lip products that I’ve worn recently, aren’t you so excited? I don’t blame you, it’s riveting stuff.

I’ve mentioned this before, but I tend to get enamored with a specific color family and wear lots of different shades within that family for a while before moving on to something else. Recently I’ve been loving fairly rosy neutral shades.

Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss – Rosepearl

EYES: UDAAPP, Wet n Wild “Brulee” – blending and highlight, MAC “Kid” – transition, Detrivore “Hermeus Mora” – outer V, Shiro “No Men Like Me” – lid, lower lash line and inner corner, UD “Zero”- tightline and waterline, Jordana mascara, Milani brow tint pen. FACE: L’oreal Magic Lumi Concealer, MAC “Melba”, Wet n Wild “Photo Bomb” highlight

Wear Time:  Around an hour of looking really good although the glossiness fades a bit after about 30 minutes, the color remains for a full hour before fading away gracefully.

Scent:  Bubble solution. Like the kind you blow bubbles with. It’s weird.

Comfort: I like the Colorburst lipgloss formula, it’s smooth and comfortable without being too sticky.

This is a great shade, it works with everything and is a solid gloss that I think you really can’t go wrong with. It also reminds me of my Chanel gloss in Pagoda…I think that’s the name…I’ll have to do a side by side swatch test in the future.

NARS Audacious Lipstick – Anita

EYES: bareMinerals “The Dream Sequence”: “500 Thread Count” – highlight and blending, “Romp” – lid, crease and lower lash line, UD “Thrash” – inner corner, UD “Zero” – tightline and waterline, Jordana mascara. FACE: L’Oreal Magic Lumi concealer, Diorskin Nude powder, WnW “Sunset Junction” highlight.

Wear Time: After an hour it is a little faded but still looks ok but at some point before the two hour mark there’s a weird ring around the outside of my lips and it starts to gunk up on the center lip.

Scent:  None

Comfort: Very smooth texture and fairly light feeling.

I reviewed this lipstick previously and I have to say it’s grown on me a little bit since then (mostly because I just really like this shade). I still think (based on this shade at least) that this whole lipstick line is a little overhyped but it’s a decent lipstick.

Buxom Full On Lip Polish – Pink Lady

EYES: bareMinerals “The Dream Sequence”: “500 Thread Count” – highlight and blending, “Boudoir” – lid and lower lash line, “Nightcap” – liner, Jordana mascara. FACE: Loreal Magic Lumi Highlight pen, Dior powder, Colour Pop “Monster” highlight, MAC “Melba”, NARS “Laguna”

Wear Time: A little over an hour. Some of that settling into lines does actually dissipate as the wear time goes on.

Scent: Like vanilla cake. (Don’t lick it or you will die. First it will taste a little minty and then it tastes like death and your tongue feels weird for a while)

Comfort: This is a plumping lip gloss and the general feeling is less tingly and more freezing cold. It’s an odd sensation and it’s a strong sensation but I kind of like it. It’s a slightly thicker gloss and while it is sticky, it’s not TOO sticky.

I really love Buxom’s lip glosses. This particular shade isn’t my most favorite since it’s one of those milky shades that sort of settles into lip lines but the general formula is bomb.

Maybelline Refined Russet (LE) and Maybelline Truffle Tease

I forgot to write down what I wore in this look. It would be really weird if we had a post where I remembered to record info for every photo so you can rest assured that all is right with the world.

Wear Time: I got around 45 minutes out of this particular lip combo.

Scent: Sort of play-do-ee, weirdly, I don’t actually hate the scent.

Comfort: Maybelline does a really nice comfortable lipstick. These are light and smooth and not at all drying. I always forget what an excellent lipstick formula they have but I should totally be wearing my Maybelline lipstick more often!

Refined Russet was a limited edition release for Fall a few years ago but I hope they bring it back. It’s a very “in” color at the moment. I believe that Truffle Tease is still available although it was initially released as part of a limited edition collection. These things are very confusing for me. It’s available online any way. In any event, Truffle Tease is a little pale and a little beige for me to pull off on it’s own but it mixes well with other colors if you want to mute them a bit.

• I shipped the last of my Christmas gifts yesterday and I feel so sang organized getting everything finished so early this year!
• Gray Cat was peacefully putting on the couch next to me and then suddenly was consumed with the crazies and bit the shit out of me before chasing Thing Cat at top speed all around the house. Cats are weird man. 
• I’ve been mildly obsessed with Hozier’s “Like Real People Do”, well, turns out it’s about bog bodies. That’s right, dead bodies that people find in bogs. I’m not quite sure how I feel about that to be honest.
