Recently Flower Beauty has added a few new things to their range, one of which is the Shadow Play Eyeshadow Quad in Dusk ‘Til Dawn. Now, you might already have noticed this, but I love me some orange makeup. So obviously, this quad just spoke to me. I mean come on! Light creamsicle orange eyeshadow? Yes please!
Flower Beauty has pretty (and bulky) packaging with magnetic closures. When I was loitering in the makeup section of Walmart (seriously loitering…loss prevention people kept walking by me and frankly, they could do with some lessons in subtlety but whatever, I felt kind of like a rebel when I realized they thought I was shoplifting. But no, I was just chillin’ cuz that’s how I roll yo) ogling this quad, my initial impression was that these shades don’t “go together” but I wanted the orange shadow so I bought it anyway. Once I actually used the quad, I had to revise that impression because these shades TOTALLY go together. It’s actually a great little quad for shade selection and versatility. None of the shadows clash, and you could easily get any type of look from soft subtle spring time looks to dark smokey or dramatic looks.
The orange shade is a satin shade and the purple is sort of a satin matte finish. The pink is metallic and the charcoal color is a matte with sparkle (the little glitters actually stay on the eye though which is kind of amazing). The purple shade swatches poorly but applies nicely and is easy to work with.
Price: The Flower website lists it as $9.98 but the Walmart website lists this as $8.00. Either way, I think that’s a little high for a drugstore eyeshadow quad.
Availability: Flower Beauty is sold exclusively at Walmart.
Application: All of these shades are fairly pigmented and build-able and they all blend easily.
Wear Time: Fantastic! I don’t have to wear any sort of a base with these and I notice little to no fading throughout the day. I also have very minimal creasing that sets in after about 6-7 hours and is only visible within about six inches of my face. I have slightly oily eyelids with dry patches (yay! the best of both worlds!) so creasing is something I normally expect without a base so I’m a huge fan of these shadows.
Overall I don’t know what else I can say. If it wasn’t already clear, I love this quad. I have another Flower Beauty quad and it is also excellent quality but the shades in this particular quad are just perfect for me.
Have you tried any eyeshadow from Flower Beauty? Did you checkout the Flower website? Isn’t Drew Barrymore just amazing? She looks the same as she did 15 years ago. Magic I tell you!
Here are two looks I did with this quad:
The rest of this post is not related to makeup…but yesterday I dyed my hair and normally I use dye on my brows but only leave it on for a maximum of five minutes. Well, I’m easily distracted and completely forgot that I had dye on my eyebrows so (brace yourself) THIS happened:
Sexy right? The worst part? I’m too lazy to go buy dye to fix them so instead I’m just going to rock the crazy clown look. Maybe I can start a trend.
I’m sorry if I scared you with that picture. My eyebrows scared me and I hate being scared alone. Here are some cat pictures to make up for it.
Thing Cat is judging you. Gray Cat is just being generally adorable. Cats man.

I haven’t tried any Flower eyeshadows yet, but now I think I should. Cute kitties!
They’re adorable right?! I may be biased though 🙂
I’m really impressed with the quality of the shadows in the two quads I own. If you try them you must let me know what you think.
I love your red eyebrows, haha 😀 That look with the orange is stunning!! And omg the pink in that quad is calling my name, might have to stop at Walmart. Why must you be such a makeup addiction enabler???
Haha! This quad is seriously so good, that pink is amazing, I don’t normally love pink eyeshadow but this one is really pretty. Allow me to enable you further, you NEED this quad because I really want to see how you use these shades! (Insert evil laughter)
Nooooooo….*runs into Walmart, shoving people out of the way as she grabs greedily at the makeup aisle*
Mission accomplished 🙂
Talk about a Halloweeny palette. =O Rock those red brows girl! I personally love matchy-matchy brows. Also, adorable cats!
Totally Halloweeny! But in a super subtle way which is awesome 🙂 sadly, the cats are completely aware of how cute they are and they use that knowledge to further their evil plots 🙂
I know this post is really old but I can’t find this eyeshadow anywhere anymore and I really liked it. Was this quad discontinued? I couldn’t find that out either. Thanks!
It looks like it is discontinued sadly and i don’t see a comparable colour story in the new line of shadows. Very sad, this is one of my favorites!
