2016 Lip Product Favorites

Today I’m blaming all typos on this guy:

Now that I’ve got my disclaimers out of the way, let’s talk about some lip products shall we?

In 2015 and 2014 I talked about favorite lipsticks in each shade. This year however, I’m just going to talk about a few of my most worn lip products. Truthfully I wasn’t as enamored with lipstick this last year as I have been previously so I have far fewer things to talk about.

Chanel Glossimer 63

Sadly it would seem that this particular shade has been discontinued. This is the only Chanel product that I own so I have been carrying it in my purse all year in an attempt to get a good amount of use out of it. There truly isn’t anything technically special about the formula or color of this gloss but it’s my most worn, favorite color. I think I’ll try to find a dupe at some point before I use this up.

Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask

I don’t have any particular love for Bite Beauty as a whole but the Agave Lip Mask is the bomb.

I carry the Champagne shade in my purse and I keep the “Natural” un-tinted version by my bed (I would recommend the un-tinted version over the Champagne shade in general). I truly haven’t suffered from dry lips since I started using this product. It’s magical and worth the price, I really can’t recommend it enough. In fact, I’m going to go out on a limb and claim this as my favorite overall lip product. It’s amazing!

You can purchase this from Sephora.

Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Liquid Lip Potion – True Liar

True Liar is really just such a gorgeous shade. The Liquid Lip Potions are a cross between a lip gloss and a liquid lipstick. This wears well for a glossy formula. Really though, it’s all about the color. I was very into berry shades this last year.

You can find True Liar at any Estee Lauder counter or from multiple online retailers.

Revlon Cherries in the Snow

Cherries in the Snow is such a gorgeous lipstick. The formula is smooth and comfortable and I can wear this for 4-5 hours before needing a touch up. I don’t get bleeding, it’s easy to touch up, I really have no complaints. And as far as the actual color, it’s somewhere between red and fuchsia but can be altered beautifully with a darker lip liner. Honestly, this lipstick is completely worth the $9.00 and you should definitely check it out.

I’m sorry that this post is a bit pared down and unenthusiastic, but there just weren’t any new loves in my lipstick life. I blame liquid matte lipstick honestly. That stuff is just taking over the world and I’m so incredibly bad at applying it that I sort of resent that everything now has to be liquid and matte. Let’s make 2017 the year of the gorgeous cream lipsticks! And gloss! Remember gloss?! We like gloss!

Did you find a new holy grail lip product this year? Any favorite lip treatments? I’m always down to try a new lip treatment so I’ll welcome any and all suggestions!

  1. Why must cats lay down on you as soon as you start typing? 😆
I’d say the Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask is my most disappointing product of the year! Did you see this:

I agree with you – all the liquid mattes are dominating all the new lip releases. I do not want! Yes to cream lipsticks. And tinted lip balms!
I’m having a hard time thinking of new lip products I liked in 2016, to be honest. Lipsticks aren’t my favourite makeup products anyway… I’m going to have to root through my posts!
