Howdy stranger! It’s been a little while! I’ve been suffering from a combination of lack of time, writers block and general lack of focus. It happens sometimes.
Since it’s been so long since I last wrote a blog post, I’m going to jump right in so we can get on to the good stuff, pictures, as quickly as possible.
Notoriously Morbid offers a monthly subscription (currently wait listed) and this month they offered an option to buy a single month of the subscription! Cool right?
Here are the initial swatches that I did with my finger over bare skin:
The remainder of the swatches were done with a flat foundation brush and are over Urban Decay Primer Potion, bare skin and then Darling Girl Glitter Glue on the far right.
Hatchet Face:
How pretty is that over the glitter glue? I haven’t tried this yet but I’m curious how it will actually perform on the eye. It definitely didn’t swatch well with the finger swatch but that doesn’t really mean much (most loose eyeshadow requires at least primer in order to stick to skin).
High School Hell Cat:
This is such a sparkly shade. The photos don’t really capture the amount of shimmer and glitter present in this shade. I’ve been exploring actually using black eye shadow lately so I’m stoked to try this!
Cry Baby:
You guys. I love this eyeshadow. It is sooooo gorgeous! This is that perfect inner corner highlight when you want something a little unusual but still work safe. I think it will make a really pretty all over lid shade as well but I haven’t tried it yet.
Scrape:
I have to admit, I’m a little over the whole liquid matte lipstick craze. Maybe it’s just because it’s Summer and I’m ready for gloss, or maybe it’s just a case of over-saturation with a specific product type. That being said, this is a REALLY NICE formula. It is completely matte but it doesn’t completely dry down. That means it is not transfer proof but infinitely more comfortable than a bone dry formula. I did only wear this one day so I can’t give a full review but my first impressions are extremely positive.
This edition of the Vanishing Cabinet was $13.25. It shipped out on Monday and I had it in my mail box on Wednesday.
Overall, I think this is a really fun collection! I probably won’t reach for two of the shades all that often but they’re pretty shades. Cry Baby will be a staple in my collection as will the Mystic Matte Lipstick. I would consider trying other Mystic Mattes in the future based on this sample.
Do you currently get the VC subscribtion? Would you consider it? How have you actually been lately? Anything new and exciting in your life? Let’s chat in the comments, I’ve missed comment conversations.
Tidbits:
- I got another hair cut! It’s really short. I love the ease of having super short hair but I’m not wild about this particular cut. Mostly I just have a short attention span when it comes to hair.
- I spent today helping a friend cut down five of our trees in our yard. It was fun and exhausting and a little sad. We’ll be planting new trees that won’t destroy our house and our septic system.
Welcome back ❤❤

Thank you! 💛💛
I haven’t tried anything from this brand, but I do love the colours that you’ve swatched.
I need to get my hair cut so badly. My stylist moved his salon but it isn’t open for business yet. My hair has gotten so crazy long!
I think you would really appreciate the brand over all.
You have great though! But I understand the overwhelmed by hair feeling too though. Hopefully you can get in for an appointment soon.
Hey, been absent too (college and remodeling). Looking forward to reading this later, but I had to let you know that NYX has released a ton of nail polishes, including some green ones that reminded me of you! http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/nyx-nail-lacquer/NYX_230.html They also have a bunch of fun glitters, etcs.
Oooo thank you for the heads up! Checking them out immediately 🙂
Hope school and remodeling are going well!
Np! (Also, running a giveaway, you can enter if you want? :3)
They are! How have things been for you?
Will definitely enter the giveaway! And I’ll use that a an excuse to get caught up on binge reading your blog😄
Things have been good! My parents just visited me for two weeks and it was awesome!
Aww! ❤ That's awesome, hope you all had a great time! 😀
Very cool makeup! Welcome back. I’ve been having a hard time keeping up this spring as well. I’ve been traveling so much. I’ve been to Jamaica; St. John’s, NL; Quebec; and Halifax, NS, all in the last 6 weeks or so. My goal is to get back to a more regular blogging schedule over the summer 🙂
Thank you!
Spring just brings so many distractions because it’s so nice to be outside!
It sounds like you’ve had a great spring so far! Do you travel for work out was that all fun travels?
Here’s to more blogging over the summer!
The names of these shades are awesome! My favourite is Cry Baby for sure – it’d look incredible over a darker base. Imagine it over that Annabelle cream shadow pencil!
Hatchet Face is pretty dynamite but I don’t think I could pull off a shade like that on my eyes.
I noticed you got a hair cut! It’s a nice change for summer. I keep wanting to chop mine off to chin length (it’s past my shoulder blades right now) but I’m chicken! I like having the ability to tie up in a ponytail.
Oooh I hadn’t thought to put it over that pencil but I bet it would look incredible! I just wore that pencil a couple of days ago. It’s so good! 🙂
I’m not quit sure what to do with Hatchet Face. I feel like it well be easy to look like I have some sort of eye irritation so I’ve been avoiding using it.
Short hair for summer IS really nice. Try cutting it in a long bob maybe? Have it still hit your shoulders so you can pull it back but you still get that sassy short hair kind of vibe.
