Essie Retro Revival Collection – Sequin Sash and Starry Starry Night

Since the Retro Revival Collection is limited edition, I thought I would bundle the two shades I purchased into one post so you can see them before this collection actually disappears. It’s so unlike me to review things before they get discontinued. Exciting!

Starry Starry Night

Starry Starry Night reminds me of a nail polish that I owned in 8th or 9th grade. I think it was called Camero and it was probably a Claire’s brand nail polish. Claire’s in the 90’s was the bomb! They usually had fun bright colors that no one else was carrying at the time and sometimes they had little plastic rings that came with the polish. So rad! Sorry, I got distracted there.

Starry Starry Night was really easy to apply, and actually wore very well (it survived a weekend of painting with minimal chipping or tip wear). The photo above is two coats over OPI Nail Envy with Seche Vite Top Coat.

Sequin Sash looks really lovely in the bottle, like a soft pearlescent champagne with glitter. I suppose it is kind of a champagne shade once applied but it has just enough gold or bronze or yellow in it to just give an overall impression of dirty fingernails. I didn’t dig it. It is also VERY sheer. The above photo is 4 coats over OPI Nail Envy with Seche Vite Top Coat. It did apply evenly and completely filled in any ridges in my nails but I just didn’t end up loving it.

Did you get anything from this collection?

    1. Thanks! Night sky polishes are the best. I keep meaning to actually try adding glitter to some blue polishes but it also seems like a lot of work and I’m pretty lazy:)
