Project Wear All The Lipstick – Round 14

Hey Ya’ll, it’s been a hell of a week on so many different levels. I don’t even know anything anymore. But luckily for me, talking about makeup is completely calming. So let’s look at some lipstick! These are all actually shades that I wore a few weeks ago but like I said, my life has been bananas lately (and not in the fun Gwen Stefani way) so I have lag basically.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick – Lovecraft + NYX Lip Liner – Nude + Colour Pop Lippie Stix – Wet

From the Kat Von D (KVD) Chrysalis Palette: Entomology – blending and highlight, Vanish – transition and blending the lower lash line, Papillo – outer corner and lower lash line, Telepathy and Tiny Death on the inner corner. Shiro Who Needs Reasons? as my lid shade, UD Eyeliner – Freak on lower lash line and waterline, UD Eyeliner – Zero to tight line. Jordana Best Lash Extreme Mascara. Milani Stay Put Brow Color. FACE: Camp Cosmetics Monogamy blush to contour. Colour Pop Monster to highlight. Garnier Skin Renew Anti- Dark Circle Under Eye Roller (is that seriously necessary?)

Entire Combo:

Wear Time: If I recall correctly, this wore for around two hours which is good for me.
Comfort: Dry. Not the most Sahara Desert kind of dry…but it wasn’t particularly awesome feeling either. I blame Lovecraft honestly.

Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick – Afternoon Tea (LE)

FACE: Garnier roller concealer, Diorskin Nude Natural Glow powder (discontinued). Colour Pop Monster highlighter. Flower Beauty Blush Stick – Apricot a lot

Wear Time: Around an hour.

Scent: Normal Maybelline Lipstick scent. Something akin to Playdo

Comfort: This is your average lipstick comfort wise. It feels like lipstick but it isn’t uncomfortable in any way. Pretty unremarkable really.

This was limited edition from The Porcelain Collection back in 2012. I truly thought this was from a collection last year but 2012 was…not last year O_O Time flies my friend.

Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick – Airy Fairy + Rimmel Exaggerate Lip Liner – Addiction

Wear Time: around 30 minutes

Scent: I really intensely dislike the Rimmel lipstick scent. I don’t know how to describe it but it might be a floral perfume type of scent? Only with more sugar? It’s icky. I threw out most of my Rimmel lipstick because the scent is too much for me but I really like this particular shade.

Comfort: A light texture as far as lipstick goes. It feels a bit balmy without actually being moisturizing but it’s comfortable.

L’Oreal Colour Caresse Wet Shine Stain – Pink Perseverance

Shiro Elite Four – outer 1/2 of lid. Fyrinnae Fireside Interlude – inner 1/2 of lid. Rimmel Deep Blue Eyeliner on water line and tightline. Jordana mascara. Milani Brow Tint Pen in Natural Taupe. Shiro Cake! on inner corner. FACE: Dior powder. elf tone correcting powder on the under eye situation. Nars Laguna bronzer. MAC Melba blush.

Wear Time: Around an hour and a half.

Scent: Rosy floral scent. It isn’t my least favorite scent but it is strong and it does linger for around a half hour.

Comfort: I like these actually. I often forget that I have them but they are comfortable, they aren’t drying, they wear a long time for a gloss. They are slightly sticky but not to the point that it bothers me.

I have several of these glosses and they are all quite sheer so that’s something to keep in mind if you decide that you want to try them out. (To be fair, I don’t have any of the deeper shades in this range so I can’t speak to their opacity)

Milani Color Statement Lipstick – Nude Creme + NYX Butter Gloss – Tiramisu

Shiro: Let’s Use All The Colors! – lid. UD: Zero – waterline and tightline. Maybelline: Plum Persuasion eyeliner – lower lash line. Jordana mascara. MIlani brow pomade.

Wear Time: I forgot to make a note but I suspect it was around 45 minutes. I get decent wear time from Milani lipstick as a general rule but I only get around 20 minutes of wear time from the Butter Gloss.

Scent: Nude Creme smells like synthetic watermelon and Tiramisu smells like vanilla candy.

Comfort: I love the way both of these products feel and they feel really comfortable when combined as well.

MAC – Retro + Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick – Gothica

mac_retro_with_kvd_gothica_full_face_10_14 — This my friend is the face of a girl who needs a nap. EYES: UDAAPP. WnW Brulee – blending and highlight. MAC: Cork – transition, outer corner and crease. Shiro: Angry Cuccos – lid. Jordana mascara. FACE: nada.

Wear Time: Around 3 hours and this wore off in the best way possible. The color started to fade and the glitter stuck around but not awkwardly.

Scent: Retro smells like vanilla and Gothica is a slightly more sweet vanilla (I believe it is supposed to smell like creme brulee…dude…creme brulee…mmm…)

Comfort: This combo feels slightly dry but not drying. It isn’t uncomfortable it just isn’t moisturizing.

I really really liked this combo. I want to pair Gothica with everything now.

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain – London Posh

Shiro: Farore’s Wind – lid shade. Jordana mascara. Milani brow pomade. FACE: None.

Wear Time: A little over an hour.

Scent: A vague sour scent. The scent that is super common to glossy stain hybrid products.

Comfort: Feels great for the majority of the day but after about the third application it starts making my lips feel a little pruney.

I’m sorry if I was a little all over the place in this post. I seem to have edited pictures with multiple fonts and I think I changed formatting a few times mid post. It’s just one of those days!

Tidbits:

I’m finally seeing a little weight loss progress which is really encouraging!
I think I will do my best to wreck said progress by drinking a boatload of beer for dinner. Or…as a supplement to dinner…but mostly as a dinner substitute 🙂

Love MAC Retro on you! And I’m with you on the Rimmel lipsticks – I can’t get past the scent either.

I totally agree with you about Rimmel. Ugh, what do they flavor it with?? It’s so unappealing. Airy Fairy looks great on you though! That’s one of the few Rimmels I’ve held on to as well; it’s a good color.

  It’s the worst! I’m convinced that some horrible super villain came up with the scent.
  It’s a great color! And I think it’s one of those shades that looks really good on a lot of different people which is always nice.

I have Rimmel Airy Fairy but I hardly ever reach for it – it’s a bit too cool toned for my liking. Hmm I don’t recall the scent of it, but it wasn’t off putting to me. It was quite strong though.

  I initially thought it was a bit too cool toned for me too but it’s sheer enough that I can get away with it. It does really help to have a warmer lip liner with it.
  Some people actually like the Rimmel lipstick scent! (Weirdos I tell you) 🙂
